Announcing...Isaac's Brand New Teeth

About a month ago, Isaac's front two teeth starting hurting. When the pain became unbearable, he decided that it was time to go to the dentist. The diagnosis: Isaac needed a root canal. The dentist prescribed Isaac Lortab to hold him over until his appointment but forgot to call in the prescription leaving Isaac debating whether it would be worth it to knock out his teeth with an ice-skate like on Cast Away. (Seriously though, he mentioned that idea to me). He finally was able to get the pain killers, but to his dismay found that it really did nothing to ease his pain for the first couple of days. The appointment finally arrived, but what Isaac was not expecting was for the shot he got in the roof of his mouth to hurt even worse than his teeth had been hurting previously. All he had to show from his appointment was a sore mouth, a sticker, a large bill, and two temporary crowns (actually it was only one crown made to look like two teeth). Today, Isaac returned to the dentist so that he could get his REAL crowns. He was thrilled that he didn't have to have any shots in his mouth but nervous about what his new teeth would look like. His teeth have changed, they are a little bit bigger. We decided that he just looks like Luke Skywalker especially at the part when he says "you're not my father!!" which isn't necessarily a bad thing considering Luke is a pretty cool guy. The new plan is to make one more appointment and see if the dentist can't file down his teeth a little bit. But for the time being, if you happen to run into Isaac don't be afraid to call him Luke.

The only thing I can say is that Isaac has a great smile! Thank goodness he's smiling again! It sounds like it was awful.

Did he get a light saber? Because that would make everything worth it!

Oh my heck I had this exact experience a couple of weeks ago! Except it was a tooth in the back. Talk about painful...I seriously wanted to yank out my tooth just like you. I'm glad someone else had this thought as well. I get my crown in like a month. I think your new teeth look beautiful!
