Easter

Easter may likely be one of my favorite holidays of the year. While I still have not figured out what a giant bunny who lays eggs has to do with Christ's Resurrection, I love the promise of sunshine, new life, and most importantly the knowledge that all will one day rise again after death through the sacrifice of our Lord and Redeemer. As the culmination of the atonement, the doctrine of the resurrection must be the single most important doctrine of the gospel.

Without the Resurrection, life would become, "only a dismal journey of 'getting and spending', only to end in utter and hopeless oblivion." --- Gordon B. Hinckley

"Without the Resurrection, the gospel of Jesus Christ becomes a litany of wise sayings and seemingly unexplainable miracles—but sayings and miracles with no ultimate triumph. No, the ultimate triumph is in the ultimate miracle: for the first time in the history of mankind, one who was dead raised himself into living immortality. He was the Son of God, the Son of our immortal Father in Heaven, and his triumph over physical and spiritual death is the good news every Christian tongue should speak." ---Howard W. Hunter

How grateful I am to a perfect savior who willing sacrificed and laid down his life for every one of us, then rose triumphant from the grave. It is amazing that Christ asks of us to sacrifice our hearts, minds, time, and energy but in the end, it is always Jesus who comes to us, not the other way around. And all this, is why I love Easter.

Isaac and I had a wonderful Easter. We had lunch and an Easter egg hunt on Saturday in Highland with all the family. It was cold and rainy, but Sunday morning brought with it the sunshine. We were thrilled. The mountains and sunset looked beautiful. Basically, It was a great weekend.

I have so many cute nieces and nephews and I thought that I would put up some of the cute pictures that I took of some of them.
