Bedtime Stories

A couple weeks ago while babysitting Hannah, William, and Brooklyn, we decided to tell them some bedtime stories before tucking them in for the night. Our stories were silly, but the kids were enthralled and continued to jump in and input their own additions to the story. During one story in particular about a girl helping a princess from a far away land, Hannah exclaimed without a moment hesitation that the name of the princess in the story was "Elisa." We agreed and continued the story about Elisa.
A few days later Isaac and I were driving home together from dinner when we saw a woman pulled over onto the side of the road, the hood of her car emitting billows of smoke. We decided to pull over and see if we couldn't offer some assistance. After looking under the hood and tinkering around, it was decided that the car would need some serious mechanic work, but we offered the woman a ride, which she gladly accepted. On the drive, we discovered that this woman's name just so happened to be Elisa, and like the story we told, she too was from a far away land...Mexico. Coincidence? Maybe, but we couldn't help but think of the movie Bedtime Stories and are excited for another visit to Jake and Laralee's for more stories with Hannah and William. Until then, we will wait in anticipation for the day when we run into the figurines from Legoland who have come alive to help to help us fight off evil.
