Memorial Day

Although school has been out for over a month, it never truly feels like summer until Memorial Day (especially since it snowed enough to make a snowman the other day). It was beautiful weather and Isaac had the day off, so we decided to go hiking to Timpanogos cave. As we were a little late getting out the door, we were worried that there wouldn't be any tickets left, but were pleasantly surprised to find that there were plenty. Scott, Laura, Michelle, and Heber all came along and we had such a great time. It was so fun having Scott there to explain all of the history of the trail and other random facts that he has learned over the course of all the times that he has gone. Our tour guide who took us through the cave was great. She was so excited to meet Heber, espcially since one of the men who discovered the cave was named Heber and she let him help out at different parts of the tour. As we were leaving the cave Heber exclaimed "I can't wait to tell all of my friends about this. Thanks for naming me Heber mom!" The cave really was so cool inside. It smelled damp and musky and had the strangest geologic features that I have ever seen. It was truly incredible.

After that, Isaac and I headed up to the Clark Planetarium and watched "Hubble" in 3D. It was so cool and really opened my eyes to just how incredibly small I am, and how much there is out there that we haven't explored. (Those awesome glasses also opened my eyes to the Dorkiness that is 3d movies).

We ended off the night with a great dinner and fun games in the yard with my nieces and nephews. Welcome summer, I have been waiting for you!

That looks like fun. I love the part about Heber, what a funny kid! Clint wants to know where he can get some of those glasses.

I can't believe that we never visited the caves while we were there! It looks like so much fun. And I loved Heber saying "Thanks for naming me Heber, Mom!" So cute. Finally, I laughed out loud at the picture of you in the 3D glasses. So great.

I love the picture with the stalactites and the water rings. You and your hubby are adorable. I've decided since you have so many fun adventures that I am going to live vicariously through you!

Maybe you can take Jordan to the cave--I don't think he's ever been in a cave come to think of it. He's excited to graduate soon and then spend time with you and Isaac.

I think the 3d glasses look great on you! You should start a new trend! Didn't you go to timp cave with me many years ago?
