This summer has been especially eventful, but unfortunately, not a lot of happening have made it to the blog.
I find it strange that I feel the need to apologize to the the internet, as if I have some moral duty to write on my blog. What exactly am I worried about? I have made no commitments or promises to my so called readers (ha, if only), or the blog police. And why do we blog anyway? What makes us so convinced that the rest of the world is interested in reading about our day to day experiences? Are we so vain, and so wrapped up in our own little lives that we think others will benefit in any way from our poorly taken pictures and our ramblings? And yet, the funny this is that I am interested in what other people have to say. I think that blogs provide a unique insight into what it means to be human, and there is something so intriguing to me about having a small insight into what brings others joy and happiness, and how others live their lives.
So why did I decide to get a blog? I think that record keeping and journaling of some sort is really important. It provides us opportunities to look back over our lives and see how the Lord has guided and blessed us, and also allows us to debrief and think deeply about experiences that we have had. However, while journaling and blogging are similar, they are not the same. I can journal (and do), without sharing my thoughts with the world. So why blog? Well I really do think that maybe some people (mostly my family) is interested in reading about my life, and I blog because I like to keep up on what other people are doing, so why not do the same. Blogging helps me feel connected to people in ways that I may not connect with them otherwise and allows me to share experiences and practice writing. So, although I sometimes feel dumb doing it, and although I am still not making any promises, I think that I will continue to blog, and continue to journal. So prepare for some great upcoming future blogs.

I'm excited!
Yes, you may in fact need to apologize for neglecting your blog! It is quite appropriate under the circumstances, as you have been having lots of fun, not working, and have absolutely no excuses--and I must add that I have checked daily for an update--which has been somewhat of a burden for me. Never forget that I am your number one blog fan.
Hmmm.. I think I am in the running for number one blog fan. And, while you may not have many readers (or, maybe you do) you have some very dedicated readers who live on the other side of the ocean and would really appreciate regular updates on your life. Include pictures please.
