Summer Days, Drifting Away...

Although the fall season was technically ushered in a few weeks ago, the warm weather here has prevented me from fully embracing the fall season (although I am not complaining about the 80 degree weather we've had). This last week, however, I decided it was time. The temperature finally dropped a little, the leaves have begun to change, and football is in full swing. Now that I have decided it is fall, I just can't get enough of it.

On Friday night we went out with some friends and wandered through a skeleton shaped corn maze in the dark. Saturday, we walked hand-in-hand through the orchard, sipped cider, found our perfect pumpkins and toted them around our little red wagon (Yes, we are older than 6 and didn't have any children with us, why do you ask?). Isaac rides his bike to campus every day and intentionally goes out of his way to ride over the crunchy leaves. I like watching the tractors harvesting the corn fields during my daily jogs. The sunsets lately have been orange and blue, and I am thrilled about pulling out my scarves and jackets from storage. I have made soup 3 times this last week, often accompanied by a side of cornbread, and we just finished up a delicious pumpkin dessert. BYU football finally won a game, and Isaac did great on his first test of the semester. Summer days have drifted away but we couldn't be happier for the arrival of fall.

I love autumn as well and I am welcoming it with open arms! Your photos really captivate the spirit of fall. Can I have a copy of the tree picture? Are you guys gonna be home for Thanksgiving?
